In light of the Good Shepherd Trust’s growth plan, the Board is seeking to appoint new Trustee Directors and would welcome applications from those with strong professional and leadership skills including, but not limited to:

· Change management leadership particularly during a time of rapid organisational growth

· Finance (preferably a qualified accountant)

· Human resources

· Marketing and public relations

· Educational system leadership

· Recent school leadership/improvement experience in maintained schools

· SEN practitioner experience

Applicants do not need to be Christian but do need to be able to fully support the Trust’s Christian ethos, mission and values. Previous board level experience, whether in business, education or the third sector is desirable, as is a track record of leading change management and in growing organisations. We are working hard to become a more diverse organisation – which is key to our commitment “to be better, together”. We welcome applications from everyone committed to this ethos and would particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in the Group as a whole. We always appoint on merit.

The role is broad and varied and will provide you with the opportunity to support the delivery of the best possible outcomes for all GST children, young adults and school communities. You will work in partnership with the Chair of the Trust, fellow Trustee Directors, the Trust’s Chief Executive Officer and executive leadership team to undertake the three core functions of the Board which are:-

* To ensure the clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction of the Trust

· * To hold executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation

· * To oversee the financial performance of the Trust and make sure public money is well spent and value for money has been obtained.

The Good Shepherd Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We ensure that all our employment practices reflect this commitment.

Please note that we reserve the right to interview on application should a suitable candidate apply and we have the right to withdraw this advert prior to the closing date. You are therefore strongly encouraged to apply for the role as soon as possible.
